Now you can meddle with Sicily, MM, although I think I will do more.

Too much or not enough story for this one, guys?

Bruce died early as he was a weak, sick child and Constance took the throne three years later but also the first years of her reign should prove to be mean turmoil for the country, despite her administrative talent. Especially the Nobles in Naples sought to finally end sicilian domination over their realm."

He was intent on freeing Naples from Sicily but the encounter between those two in Apulia during the winter 1589 changed everything upside down. Conrad and Constance fell in love for each other. The couple married each other in a small chaple in Naples and as a first act Conrad laid down his whole duchy before Constance before he became King of both Sicilies. The rebellion stood no chance after this event. With the most important supporter gone and Conrad being a diplomat and warrior of exceptional talents, the realm was calmed down. The house of Hauteville-Hohenstaufern was born overnight. And a realm which seemed to be imploding only some months before, stood

strong and united again."

Yeah, I will prolly add a bit more of trouble to Sicily to balance it out for a nice, wonderful and prosperous reign of the two Lovers.:D

Nice, except afaik the historical norman Hauteville line ended when they got inherited by the Hofenstaufen... That's a minor issue though.

I like the sound of Hauteville-Hohenstaufen and it just could be a distant relative.

It's Aberration after all.;)

I just need you guys to watch Sicily and Savoy, so i don't overpower them, I love those nations!:)

Those 2 nations does indeed rock, especially Savoy.

About Sicily... since this is fantasy anyway, how about using this flag instead:

You can just pretend that the Hauteville family never died out, and that the Aragon family never took power. :)

From Archduke's comments about Hohenstaufens, I think that original Hautevilles are inherited by Hohenstaufens as in history, but Charles d'Anjou never came to kick out the Hohenstaufens.

The Hohenstaufens got unlucky in a battle against France in 14th.

France in Aberration? Nope, don't think so. :D

@ Hive, nice flag, will think about it

I actually rather like these events. They explain who Constance and Conrad are, for starters, and they also provide a backdrop for the conflict with Genoa.

Edit: One other thing, AD. Could you include a command = { type = breakvassal which = GEN } just after the stab + 5 in event 200208, just in case?

I look forward to seeing what else you come up with, Archduke.

Cheers.

Thanks. I saw you took 1590 as the starting date for the real sicilian-genoese conflict. Good idea!:)

That was just a happy coincidence actually... one that worked out well in the end.

I've been thinking about possible Sicily/Genoa interactions by way of event, Archduke, and I've come up with the following:

1) Early in the game, I think Genoa should support Sicilian claims on the Marches (Marche province) if Sicily chose to compromise with the Republic in event 201701.

2) The Genoese would probably also support a Sicilian bid for Romanga over the Papal and Milanese claims. The conflict over Romanga is something that I've yet to write, it will probably happen around 1440 and will start with the Papal States.

3) The Genoa/Sicily conflict begins around 1590. I think it could be useful to have an "End of the Conflict" event around 1630. If both are still alive and neither one is a vassal of the other, the war is a stalemate. At this point, we could have them swap some provinces back, if they were taken, (Corsica, Liguria, Venice and Istria to Genoa; Sicily, Messina, Apulia and Naples to Two Sicilies), alter core provinces and then have some nice events for the two of them cooperating later.

4) I also think that it would be nice to have an event if Genoa wins the war and also one if Sicily wins the war. What constitutes "winning" is subject to debate, but I have some idea about what the potential rewards could be.

Ultimately, I would like to revisit my own minor Genoa/Sicily events in the major_gen.txt file, just to make it all sync up with whatever uniform scheme we come up with.

Cheers.

I was also thinking... perhaps a better way of getting Sicily greek culture would be to have a dynastic relation between Albania and Sicily, during Skanderberg's reign. It could be an interesting way of getting the culture and possibly some shields on Albania and Ragusa.

I like all ideas, except the forced peace of number 3.

We can have a "end" of the conflict, but NO scriped exchange of provinces.

Probably wise on that point. I'll write up some draft events and post them for critique.

If Byza is involved by being pro-Genoa, it needs to vasallize Sicily to get italian culture which likely means forced vasallization. If Genoa and Byzantium are cooperating to achieve this, that could be one way to end the conflict in victory for Genoa.

I need that stuff soon. As Hungary will ally with Sicily very likely, and I need 1-2 more events to support that in that case.
