Bought, downloaded and installed the game today. Was given a link to the patch on GamersGate. Played the game first, then downloaded the patch. Installed it, and I get a "side-by-side" error. None of the, few, solutions I've found work. (Such as anything C++ related)

Some have solved similar problem by installing 32bit x86 version of c++ redistributable even if they're on 64bit windows. Some discussion here. If the problem persists please post some more info about your hardware & operating system.
