Hi, whenever I try to open Hearts of Iron 2 single player it crashes. Does anyone know whats wrong with it/ how to fix it?

We need a little more info here. What version, publisher, etc. Also, at what point does it crash, what error messages (if any) do you get?
I think its version 1.2 before when I tried single player it would go gray and the music would still play but the program manager said it wasn't responding an I get an error message. I tried playing the tutorial and opening the multiplayer and they both worked fine, its just the single player that doesn't work

Okay let's try some standard things.
1) Make sure you have the latest patch for the game.
2) Rename the AVI folder to AVI_back
3) Set the color depth to 16BIT
4) Turn off everything in the background like E-mail/ICQ/Messenger, Virus protection and everything in the system tray beside the clock.
5) Update your Windows, update your Video card drivers and audio card drivers. Then repeat steps 1-3.

okay i just got a new copy of hoi2 but the problems are still thereit says something about ntdll.dll
I cannot see anything on that, even when I zoom in I have to zoom so far it is just a big blur.

Check your system for Viruses and Spyware very carefully.
Research suggest that could be a problem.
