Most of the time I get slave camps, I don't actually want the troops from them, because they reduce morale, are li and thus not worth that much, and thay also massively increase the garrison so I don't get any troop reinforcements for a long time.

Aside from the fact that those troops sometimes feel as if they are more of a liability than an asset, it might also make sense that ruler thinks his slaves are better put to use in the economy, then as soldiers when thay are also armed an can revolt easier.

So could I just ask for the option to de-militarize my slave camp(s)?
Even if it does nothing more than remove the troops and morale penalty, it'd be a lot better than being forced into either both troops and economy or neither of them.

As for how this could work, a decision removing the slave building and adding a wholly different one without the troops of the same level, with a second decision enabling you to reverse the effects could be a possibility.

Nice idea! Giving you some sort of small beneficial trait for a decade or so for your trouble.

I wasn't entirely thinking of a trait, but perhaps something along the lines of not forcing your slaves to fight might also remove the cruel trait or something.

But I think just a small tax income bonus(more slaves working in the economy) or reduction of the revolt risk(less armed slaves), or even just the removal of the troops and the morale penalty would work a bit better.

Thinking about it though, shouldn't there be some reward for releasing slaves, like the removal of a bad trait? Because at the moment, except for some people that get some piety, there isn't really a reward for releasing (camp) slaves...

Something like:

Random freed slave arrives at court - 33% chance.
Cruel removed (25%), Honorable gained (10%)
Liberator Trait (5%)

Negative modifiers might be something which angers slave holding nations and realms, relations penalty. (5%)
