In my latest game I chose to use the "Ottoman unrest" option.
Worked fine, no crashes until the unrest struck and a few years later the gov. fell.
New countries emerged, such as Astrakhan and Greece. The only problem was that the Greeks took Thrace(Ottoman Capital) as THEIR CAPITAL!!:D
So now the Turks were impossible to contact diplowise, no alliances could be made. So they were, a country without a capital. ;)

It's prolly somewhere in an African colony. Don't u read the threads aroudn here ? Savant is on a crsuade against this. Granted, less so than against Imp 2 but still ;)

Update.
Took me a while to find it, it is located in Karroo, South Africa. Borders Tale province.
I thought it would pop u in a core province, not some stupid African province half a globe from Thrace.

I have not heard of Savants crusade, which thread is it??

I had the same "problem" with the Scenario Generator, but I thought it was only when you used that, now I can see the light. :D

Yes, I don't think Savant is ready to slide down a pole imbedded with razer blades while nude over this problem. :D

Nevertheless, I wouldn't go so far as to say he WOULDN'T do it either. It's a pretty dumb bug, I agree. And so does Savant.

Just that, a dumb bug. I'm sure it was noticed before, but is a very low priority fix. EU II???

Meanwhile, I think there is a market for a live webcast of Savant's alternatives to playing Imp. Working title, "Imperialism II Survivor".

Totally off topic

My prior post reminded me of something I wrote last February. I wrote a humorous essay to be published in the Chicago Tribune, but had to withdraw it, due to legal terms relating to a big chunk of money I was getting from my employer (which have allowed me to be blissfully unemployed for that last six monthes). I worked for Montgomery Ward which was going out of business after 128 years. It was especially known for pioneering the catalog business. This piece is best understood by North American's but who knows. I offer it because I get a kick out of it, and if others do, too, then a nice ego boost.

Life During Bankruptcy

On a much lower on the wage scale, I had a similar experience working at a movie theatre that went out of business a week after I finished working--it was bizarre: the movies had to keep going, but with no use for the equipment (outdated) after it, no support was given. Therefore everything and anything was considered to keep faulty machinery running. Engines burned out, etc, etc. No one cared. Just had to keep them running just enough to keep the machine running and displaying pictures.
