A query! Let me preface it by saying that I mean the players and modmakers of CK2+ no disrespect, and find the amount and quality of work done staggering. As someone whom has only dabbled with modmaking, and never really gotten from the 'tinkering' stage to the 'can make events' hurdle, its amazing to me what you've all done.

But I do have one kinda....niggling problem with CK2+. Namely, its supposed to be the "better gameplay" mod...and it does have a ton of cool features and usability improvements....but...in some respects, I don't think its as good a game as CK2. Again, I mean no disrespect...but for me, the strongest part of CK2 is the characters, and the weakest part is the...almost glacial pace of the thing. If you are a catholic count in the wrong part of the world, be prepared for a nigh-endless slog, where wars are every 5-10 years, for small bits of territory, and....nothing...ever....happens.

CK2+ kinda double downs on this aspect, though. I remember the last time I tried it out, a year ago, and it had what seemed to be completely insane cooldown timers. (which /seem/ to be gone now, from looking at the CB files, but I could be wrong).... but now, playing as a pagan, I noticed, upon trying it out again....that pagans whom are not independent can't use county conquest. Which....aside from basically completely ruining the entire point of autonomous vassals (and turning it into the best law EVER) ... makes playing a pagan count...basically the same boring, slow slog a catholic count is, if your not independent. The other change I noticed, to the same CB, is that very large realms can't use it, over size 40, which seems to defy common sense, in that large realms... uh, tend to invade and gobble up small realms. If it just added to the gameplay, I could understand, but... it seems to just take one of the slowest games ever made (one which I enjoy!) and reduce the pace by like two thirds.

Wouldn't it be better to focus, if you thought it too easy to expand, on the downsides of war vs peace, combined with the (many) improvements CK2+ ALREADY makes to the faction system? I'm not really understanding the logic of basically taking out 90-percent of all combat from the game.

I hope this is not interpreted as negative or disrespectful, as I don't mean it thus. I apologize if it comes off in that manner, I have nothing but respect for your team. I might try and change the CBtype file on my own, and see if that improves my enjoyment of the mod. It is a great mod.

Thanks for listening to my feedback!

P.S. Is your gender equality submod still in? I didn't notice it under the intrigues menu anymore?

Gender equality submod? Well, any nation can now have any gender law, although they have to change it one step at a time.

And I've seen pagan counts do county conquests, yeah.

I'm afraid you're incorrect. You are not required to be independent to use the pagan_county_conquest CB. The target does have to be a close neighbor, however, unless you're a seafaring culture, in which case it must be in the same sea region.

The other change I noticed, to the same CB, is that very large realms can't use it, over size 40

Again, that's not part of the pagan_county_conquest CB. That is part of the viking_invasion CB (what you would see as Prepared Invasion, I suppose), but that's the same as in vanilla in that you're disallowed from using it once you're over a certain size. There are no other CB's that put a size limit on the user, and you also don't have to be independent to use it.

Do you have the correct checksum?

P.S. Is your gender equality submod still in? I didn't notice it under the intrigues menu anymore?

Not sure what you mean by "gender equality submod". We don't use sub-mods. All gender succession laws can be achieved by any culture, save those which specifically disallow it (such as Muslims). You can, however, only move one "step" at a time.
