Hallo guys!

If there is an opportunity, please help... :eek:o
Here my tragical history, about unfortunate attempt is a little to change map... :(

I added new provinces. Edited standardly, through Magellan and a photoshop.
All additions were successfully inserted into a game map. During check (mview map.eu2map) of mistakes - IDs(diff) has not been found.

Game with the changed map is started without problems. But, having started the game scenarios adapted under all of change, I have collided with following bugs:

1. At attempts to increase scale, game crash with a mistake. Maps with small scale have remained same, I did not change them. That is changes made by me have concerned only usual scale of a map.
If to play at standard scale, crash is not present. Game works well.

2. Besides, I have collided with inexplicable crash, not connected neither with mistakes of scenarios, nor with mistakes events. If to play in 1419, crash goes after 1450 year. If to play in 1600, in the nearest 5 years, game crash. Game simply crash, and in a file history.txt where the course of the game is written, any reasons of a start it is, not visible.

I think, that these crashs are connected with my changes of a card, but I cannot define the reason. As anywhere mistakes are not present, all sea and terrestrial provinces, work normally.

Any help will be very valuable...

When injecting the EU2MAP file into TBL files you need to make your command string with /L which will generate zoom 2 and 3 out of 1. :)

Like this:

Code:
MINJECT NEWMAP.eu2map /D:NEWTBL /L
NEWMAP.eu2map is your EU2MAP file and NEWTBL is the folder where your map shall go. Inside it you need to have a DB folder and a Map folder, I guess you knew that. :)

Thanks for rather helpful information. I shall experiment. ;)

Hm, there can be, I many provinces in one region have drawn? (About it, I somewhere heard or read, now I do not remember...) In the Europe 2 there is a restriction on quantity of provinces in one sector... There can be in it my problem?

In any case, many thanks... :)

Nope or else you couldn't inject the map into TBL files.. The Magellan programs would've stopped you when injecting. ;) You can check this by doing this:

Code:
MSTATS /R NEWMAP.eu2map REGIONINFO

The issue is most certainly with the /L command. If you didn't add it then you will only get the lightmap1 and not 2 and 3 which is why you then still have the Vanilla ones. :)

If to speak fairly, I am engaged in editing of a card not absolutely, my friend is engaged in it, I only help to test and so on. I have simply thought, that he did not use this command, but I was mistaken.... (Sorry, that I have told the history partially, but so it was more convenient to me to make my speech... :eek:o )

My friend writes, that he too uses this command, but problems remain the same, scale and crash games.

He uses:

1) mimage/i XXX.psd map.eu2map/g:3 - I insert the corrected piece into a map.
2) minject map.eu2map/d:/EU/EU2/L - I insert the updated map back.

and others...

Hmm why does he use that /G:3 command? I never use that command. Maybe it's because of this command plus the way he exports or injected.

Could you write the line for which he exctracted the eu2map file out of the Vanilla TBL files?

I use:

Code:
MEXTRACT NEWMAP.eu2map /D:OLDMAP /1

And also make him check in the MVIEW how many layers there are in the eu2map file. ;)

:) My friend transfers you, many thanks for last post!!!
The command has really helped, game not crash from increase in scale.
But, the problem remains, game (the reason is not known) crash in some game years.

Hm, if I am not mistaken, such:

Code:
[SIZE=2]mextract "e:\games\eep-rw\eep-rw.eu2map" /d:d:\eu2-eep /g /o[/SIZE]

It as an example. I not so well understand commands the program Magellan, because of it to avoid a mistake, have written a command entirely...

No, no, I do not think that a problem with it, there in fact only 2 commands, to pull out a piece of a map for editing or to make screenshot...

3 layers for editing and 1 layer, not for editing.

Though, can be was the serious mistake is made, during editing in a photoshop...

Again I is not exact :( sorry...

My friend uses this command...

Code:
mextract map /D:/EU/EU2 /I

My friend speaks:

Crash game is scattered in time. Connections between concrete month are not present. If "problem file-save" is kept before crash game from the fifteenth attempt to be loaded, crash it is possible to avoid. But it again appears in 5 game years.

1. Crash is not connected with events - I deleted from a "file-save" all events, but it again occured.
2. Crash is not connected with "double" provinces and wars.
(I mean provinces-mistakes which in the beginning of the script are in the property at once two states. And when one of them during war changes the owner, goes crash.)
3. With Monarches and Leaders, crash game too is not connected.
4. I think, it is somehow connected with actions ai, but the reasons is not found yet...

Okay I think you should make your friend try to look for nations in war with ports and navies. Cause for instance in WATK and WATKABAOI there were crashes with some ports when in war and then the AI moved navies around and some docked at the bugged ports which made the games crash. I just removed them to fix it as I found no real answer to why it happened.

Many thanks for very useful advices!!! :)
Mistake is found, at several provinces, ports have been incorrectly established, but owing to your help, the map now works stably, thanks Cool-toxic... ;)

So...
It is map WATK translated on Russian language and modified in the East Europe... Later my friend has added and has changed some provinces in the Europe...

Unfortunately the font differs from each other, different people edited a map...

Btw, if you and your friend has any other problems then look in my sig for the link to XieChengnuo's Map Tutorial. :)

May I ask which shading actions you are using?

It is textural shading, DVolk and Slavophil by means of them, drew this map.....

I have an instruction how to create such textural shading, but only in Russian. I badly know a photoshop, because of it, I unfortunately on English language can not translate this instruction... :(
