I haven't been able to play the last few GOT versions and so I installed the latest version yesterday. I was surprised to find that dragons are now characters which was really amazing to see. However I am having trouble figuring out how the system itself works and was wondering if anyone can offer advice?

If there are dragons flying about in the wild, how can a human character with the dragon rider trait try and capture or tame them? I see a lot of events pop up of dragons being captured and ridden by ordinary Westerosi people and am wondering how my Targ cadet branch can do it.

Is the "obtain a dragon egg" ambition only for Targs or other Valyrians of some kind?

Can a character become a dragon rider without an egg? My current Targ King is not a rider yet there are lots of unclaimed dragons flying about.

Any help on how the new dragon system works would be very much appreciated!

First, if a character already has a dragon, they're not going to be able to attempt to capture another. In order to capture a wild dragon, for example, all that's required is that a character be in the same province as the dragon, as far as I know, usually by leading an army there. After that, as far as I know, it's just a matter of random chance.

As for the Obtain dragon egg ambition, there are a number of possible ways to get it, it's not just for Valyrians or Targaryen. If you have any of the traits Scholar, Mystic, or Fire Obsessed, and also either have a relative that is a dragon rider, or are a ruler who makes at least 20 gold a month, and is either greedy, lunatic, or ambitious, you can obtain a dragon egg.
