I'm not sure if it's a bug or if I'm just being stupid here...
So any suggestions about how to trouble shoot this?

I used the link here:
https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?attachments/ck2plus_v4078_installer-zip.397637/
I've checked that the install folder is actually the same as the CK2 mod folder.
I got no other MODs enabled (although there *are* other mods installed through the steam workshop).
I have all of my DLCs enabled including holy fury.
(I got most of the important ones)

So, any ideas?
Is CK2+ just incompatible with Holy Fury still?
Is there something obvious that I'm missing?

Oh, and in case it matters I got discord and steam running (using the steam version of CK2).
So both the steam overlay and discord overlay is running in game, but that hasn't been a issue for a long, long time in CK2 for me)

Anyway, ideas are apprechiated.
Thanks in advance. =)

If you read the official post where you dl the mod, you'd see it is still not compatible.

In fairness, it doesn't actually say that anywhere in the OP explicitly. In order to know it's not compatible you need to know what the code for the game version is (and even then the compatible CK2 version's not exactly front and center). It really could stand to be a bit more obvious.

?
Not "front and center"

The version number is in the link.
That it "requires" a certain patch * is clear enough if one bothers to look at that single post.

Should it list all incompatible patches ?
Explain where you see a patch version number and checksum in game ?
Have a blinking version number on the page ?

There is a limit to hand-holding.

This quote does not in any place contain any of the following:

"Not Compatible with Holy Fury", "Not Compatible with the latest update" or even "May not be compatible with the latest update, check version number". For comparison, the text "DELETE OLD FILES BEFORE INSTALLING NEW VERSION", is front and center. Adding any of those, for reference, would take less time to implement than all but two posts so far in this thread took to write (and would obviously save a whole bunch of hassle).

It contains a version number which looks superficially similar to all other version numbers of the game, but that's obviously not clear enough an indicator to the casual download-er, or else we wouldn't be getting people asking about it so frequently.

So it probably shouldn't list all incompatible patches, but the one specific incompatible patch which most people might reasonably expect it to be compatible with if they didn't already know it wasn't? Certainly.

Okay that is feasible indeed and makes sense for such a big mod.
Good suggestion. That one. :p :D

Though maybe better worded "May not be compatible with the latest update of the game, check required patch version." to prevent misunderstandings.
Just an idea...  enough smilies for now...

Didn't Holy Fury come out quite a while ago? How come the mod still isn't compatible with it?

Think they lost most of their team. Not really sure if there is a schedule or even an estimation that this mod will be updated. Either way lots of other mods are updated and ready to play in the meantime, so it is easy to be patient at this point.

Moderators will be dealing with this thread.

But there seem to be some misconceptions about Plus, and mods in general.
1) mods don't update themselves. devs need to do it.
2) devs have lives outside of plus. families, jobs, etc. mod work happens if there's time left after important things.
3) no one left the team in over a year. there are new members even.
4) hf plus compatch is story about what happens when an ustoppable force meets an immovable object - code has to be rewritten ground up.
