I enjoyed the mystery that I completed, and the natural disasters add some excitement between the periods of calm. I found the game got a bit slow in late game, though. It'd be nice to have random and semi-random events that are beyond the natural disasters. Things like workers' strikes, renegade factions, Mars cults (cf. Kim Stanley Robinson's trilogy), that sort of thing. They would give the colonists a lot more personality, and create a bit more dynamism.
