Great game, but here are some suggestions for improvements.
I'd like to see more power in the "F6" screens:
1) An index page, so I can select the screen I want, rather than having to select the general category, then click through until I find the one I want. In order to figure out where a leader is now, I have to go to the leader screen, figure out what regiment he's in, then go to the list of regiments screen, then go to the province, assuming that I know where the province is.
2) I want to be able to look at my armies, navies, or provinces there, select the one I want, and click a "go to" button. This "go to" buttom could be used to implement my previous suggestion, too.
3) I would like a screen that indicates which improvements I've made to my provinces, and allows me to make an improvement from the screen. It's a pain to have to click on all your provinces trying to figure out which have weak fortresses or are missing governors, etc.
I find that the main map screen makes it difficult for me to operate conveniently:
1) It's easy to figure out the supply limit for a neighbor's province, but in order to find out your own, the most sensible way is to enter the province and click on the church. To get a neighbor's supply limit, I click on their province. I should get the same info if I click my own. The trade information could be here, too, but that's less critical.
2) When I click on the crossed flags icon, to see the different countries colored in, it would be nice to be able to see my soldiers and control them, and perhaps there could be a big marker if a province is under enemy control. I guess the point that I'm getting at here is that it's a little unclear as to who owns what during a war.
3) I would like to be able to set markers on the map, and have a list of them off to one side, so essentially I could easily switch between a map centered on my country, my colonies, a war, etc.
4) Perhaps there could be a button I click on, similar to the tree or the crossed flags, that shows me province improvements.
I would also like to be able to have a "go to province" search screen. I will eventually memorize the whole world, but in the mean time it's sometimes a little difficult to find places.
I would like to add a few items to the message notifications:
1) When a siege of my province starts. This one seems obvious, but I can't find it.
2) When another country's alliance ends. This one also seems obvious, but I can't find it. I want to be able to jump in and ask them to join my alliance.
3) Perhaps a notification that allows me to put up an alert when a *neighboring* country goes to war.
I'm running 1.08 now, but when I was running 1.07, the game crashed when I did alt-tab, which was really annoying, since I would have to "save" and "surrender" in order to check my email. 1.08 crashes too, and if possible I'd like to see these crashes fix. If it's just me getting the crashes, no problem, but I get the idea that the game is a little unstable.
The "save/exit" process is a bit demeaning. I don't want to surrender, I want to do something else for a while. It's weird to see the "city in flames" animation when all you are trying to do is take a break.
If these ideas help, great.
