Regarding the "Expansion " and "Advancement"
This is about the design of the strategic focus of the empire, which is excellent, but I don't think this will appear in two completely opposite forms. It can appear in the form of a dynamic progressive scale, with one end being extremely conservative and the other end being extremely radical (similar mechanisms can be found in other Paradox games).

This system could also simulate historical court struggles like the the dispute between the reformers and the anti-reformers in Northern Song Dynasty from 1069 to 1127.
Besides, The actual numerical progress should be hidden from foreign nations, only showing general tendencies.

While the reigning emperor always has the highest influence on this scale, powerful councilors can also determine this scale. The emperor cannot violently turn this direction in short time. He has to gradually adjust it by correct selection of talents, promotion and demotion.

2.Suggestions on Chinese officials (vassals) and the important differences between officials in history (civil officials and military generals)

A mature centralized government should never allow regional governors to control both financial and military powers. Given the exploration of the administrative system in the past, the new imperial system should severely weaken the military power of provincial governors , and the main military power of the empire will belong to the titles with no actual territory. These "generals" without territories but holding the title of "legion" will be stationed in different regions (always borders and capitals), and the emperor controls these legions mainly by controlling their finances.During expansion eras (e.g. early Tang), military leaders gain more Merit. During advancemnet eras (e.g. Song), civil officials dominate.

To be honest, it would be too difficult to simulate the official system of the Song Dynasty in a realistic way, and the requirements for this game would be too high. There is no need for it, so I won't go into detail.

At the same time, the emperor can also establish some special "themes" where financial and military power are unified, known as fanzhen in China. However, this kind of province only prevails in chaotic periods and will never frequently appear in stable periods.

Here is a small suggestion. Although the vast majority of civil servants have been selected through the imperial examination since the Song Dynasty, not all officials have actually entered political circle through the examination. Officials who have not undergone the examination system may be despised and excluded by others.

3.Suggestions for Chinese officials, regarding provincial and central governments

In a mature centralized government, the power and influence of central officials will greatly exceed those of provincial governors who can only manage local finances. The core central officials , such as Vice Director of the Department of State Affairs, Jointly Manager of Affairs with the Secretariat-Chancellery, Executice Official Participant in Determining Governmental Mattersand Manager of the Bureau of Military Affairs, should have a decisive influence on national politics, and national politics should revolve around them, rather than being centered around theme governors in administrative systems.

There is no need to understand these complex names ,as it’s too difficult and unnecessary.

In addition, provincial governors cannot actually concurrently hold important central government positions.

4. Suggestions on the Rebellion in China

It is difficult and inappropriate for a provincial governor without an army to rebel, and only landless generals or “themes” with great power may rebel. The difference is that even if a “theme” rebels, it can use its territory to supply the army, while holders of legion titles without territory must quickly occupy the land to improve their finances. The rebellion of peasants is similar. Under this premise, except for those vassal rebellions hoping to gain independence and those hoping to become regents/rulers, the primary goal of other rebellions is to occupy a piece of land, and rebellions like those in other countries aimed at reducing territorial control never occur in China.

However, rebellion in China has a special form of reconciliation known as "amnesty". Rebels will become vassals of their former lords (in rare cases, they will become “theme”, and in most cases, they will become legions without territories), such as the most famous Song Jiang "amnesty" in Chinese history that occurred in 1119.

5. Suggestions on Rivers in China

It is impossible for game mechanics to change navigable waterways. My suggestion for this is to include both the southern(1178) and northern(1066) main Yellow River channels on the map. Because even without the Yellow River, these two rivers could still be navigable (respectively Si River-Huai River and Zhang River - Chinese Grand Canal - Hai River). In addition, the Huai River and Ji River (or Daqing River), as well as the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, which are part of the four major rivers in China known as sidu, can reflect the correct shipping network in northern China.

The Yellow River channel that flows eastward in 867 (currently displayed in the diary, known as wangjing ancient channel only needs to be drawn. This channel has been severely silted up, rising above the ground and other rivers, making it unable to navigable.

Another suggestion is to turn the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River into an ocean - I know this is a bit unreasonable, but the navigation and obstruction functions of the Yangtze River are indeed similar to the ocean.

6.Suggestions on Religion in China

The official religion of China is undoubtedly Confucianism, and the emperor has the right to exhibit five attitudes towards any other religion: prohibition, disgust, tolerance, encouragement, and worship. Due to the existence of official religious mechanisms, the emperor could even directly convert to other religions, but this only affected himself. A neutral attitude is often simple and effective, while an extreme attitude may face resistance from Han Chinese intellectuals, but it also plays an important role in specific situations.

For example, in 845 and 955, there were events in China where Buddhism was banned, while emperors such as Kublai Khan believed in Buddhism, and some emperors also believed in Taoism.

7. Suggestions on Technology

Obviously, the technological level of China (or Han culture) is not from the tribal period, and even if it is classified as the high Medieval in 867, it is completely reasonable; It is too absurd to classify it as a tribal era.Even in 1178, the Khitan were still in the tribal era.Improper.

Actually, my suggestion is to redistribute the era and technology of each ethnic group. The original division of technology and era can only match the situation in Western Europe, which is completely unreasonable for a game that targets the entire Old World. I know it's difficult, but this issue is indeed very important. The technological level of each ethnic group should not be completely disconnected from historical facts.

8.I hope the expanded game can be optimized to be smoother.

If necessary, I will make an effort to provide a map of the river channel.
