Sooo, I was watching this video:

And noticed several things that just seemed...off?

1: The AI split firing in every direction. I thought we could only split fire and shoot stuff that was in our cone of fire...that grey arc we get?..
2: AI firing through walls. Odd had no LoF to the TBT, but the TBT fired at his Centurion through the wall. The Jagermech fired at his Locust through the wall......wtf?

Bugs or what?

Timestamps would be helpful since asking about two specific parts within a 48 minute long video is asking a lot.

1. is probably from arm mounted weapons?
2. is probably just a graphical glitch. LOS didn't intersect but the weapon animations might have.

At the 5 minute mark an enemy mechs pops his locust right through a wall. During the entirety of the video, almost from the start the mechs are multi shotting everything he's fielding. Even Kamea splits fire on three mechs for little to no effect. It's pretty bad, but then again I would say he brought some pretty light mechs to that fight. Locust, Vindie, CN-9A & Shadowhawk.

Split fire is a good way of taking down multiple evasion if you don't think concentrating fire can take down an enemy right away. Also works great with the breaching shot ability.

Kamea AI does concentrate on a single target when the kill odds is good. Personally, I'd have used the Kintaro in a similar way.

As for the LCT hit at 5min mark, it's hard to tell whether it's a bug or just square edge graphic since when the LCT made the move at 1min mark, it didn't have any weapons so no red lines to mark LOS. Odd also didn't check for eyeball icons on the opfor - he just assumed he's in the clear because there was no LOS line.

We've seen plenty of obstructed shots go through terrain instead of being blocked after all so no big deal.

Yeah, except they are split firing 360, I thought you could only split fire to your front arc....

This video is from his pre-release build. That series goes to video #13. Then he got an early copy of the release build and started a new campaign. He has 5 videos so far using the release build.

Fwiw I saw the locust thing and I'm pretty sure that was a weird artifact of how we decide if you can be seen vs how we draw lines of fire when weapons actually shoot. So not a bug, just a weird, uh...

... corner case

I can live with that, I'm not thinking I will be hiding behind static walls for 10 rounds of game play either!

This has been a bug that was with us since backer beta. There is a thread on the old forum:https://community.battletechgame.com/forums/threads/9721/comments/186477

Multi-shot has always allowed the AI to ignore obstruction and even firing into their own back arc.
Check this video from beta at the 39:35 and 46:25 mark:
