AFAIK, that was quite important in the Middle Ages, yes.

Can youre soldiers be captured and ransomed? Nobels too? Sons? Daughters?

I don't know if all those would be ransomed, but I know that it was something that happened in war at least.

Can you hold Inquisitions?

Was it Inquisitions at that time?

Can you secretly assasinate nobels?

Hopefully! I can't see why not at least.

But it's important to notice, that nearly nothing is revealed yet.

2. Capture/ransoming is rumored to be in, yes
3. N/A. I assume there will be ways to deal with heretics, but nothing is known yet as of how...
4. N/A. It's a possibility, but also a feature open to abuse...

Indeed there were... The Papal Inquisiton was established by pope Gregory IX in 1231, and already before that inquisition-like institutions had been formed to battle heresies (like e.g. the Cathars in the Languedoc).
