Basically title. I've tried shutting off all mods but same problem. No sound in the game at all until i minimize the game, then I hear the music fine. I've also tried setting the game to windowed but same issue. Any ideas? Thanks

Is it still running when you go back into the game too?

Does it happen in fullScreen, borderless and windowed modes?

Has this always happened in this game for you? Or only since what change or update?

Does this affect HOI4, EU4 or Stellaris also?

DXDIAG is a program you run from a command prompt or the Windows start menu 'run' dialog box (or 'search programs' in Windows 7 or later). After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Game is running fine if I go back after minimizing, but the sound cuts out again. Interestingly, it does affect HOI4 and Stellaris as in the same way. No sound unless minimized. Ran a few other games just to make sure and sound works as normal there. CKII was working normally the day before yesterday. I tried in fullscreen, borderless and windowed and none are working correctly.

That obviously implies something has changed in Windows or your computer to trigger this problem, as none of these games have been updated in the last few days.

I see you have two different sound channels using two different drivers. It's not that the sound somehow switches to the other output, does it?

Also, while this is happening, alt-tab out of the game . Right-click on the Speaker icon in the Windows taskbar and select Volume Mixer. Scroll to the right and check that neither Steam nor the game are muted, or at a very low volume.
