Sound problem when going into battle

Hi, I used to play HOI2 and whenever I'd click the battle screen to show up the statistics etc I'd hear gunshots and the whole lot. Recently I started playing again, and now all I hear is "beep beep beep". I usually play the WW1 mod, but this happens with any other mod and even the vanilla version. I've uninstalled and the whole lot but no luck.

Everything sounds really dull when I'm colonizing.

I'm trying to find my sound device, but all it's getting is "Realtek High Definition Audio - ASUSTeK Tiger Capture Device". Hope that helped somewhat.
