Hi, i love the tech tree layouts, however many of the countries build AI and or starting army should change

i played a hands off game and watched germany literally have close to 0 opposition against Soviet, in less than 6months they had taken moscow, leningrad, stalingrad, baku and soviet had only small pockets of 3-4 divisions in some provinces, hardly enough to defend against germany!

Same deal with Japan vs. China, china falls pretty fast

amazingly Germany spent the most time against France, sort of stuck on the outskirts of paris swapping pieces behind the maginot line: however this is cool!

Another note: Republican vs. Nationalist spain was a stalemate (along northern/ southern border) well into the fall of paris, very odd

also Italy lost all of north afrika without putting up much of a fight

1 more thing to note: Soviet declare war on France out of nowhere, before germany invades them

i will check more on the pacific campaign in a bit

Hi,

We are still working on getting the balance thing down. SOV is admitedly weak and so is CHI. OTOH, RW ITA was coughing up NA quite rapidly to ENG and would have lost it all without GER intervention, so I don't find that very odd looking.

In my Japan game, SU was crap... Hitler crushed it like a bug... not good.
Italy did't stand a chance in Africa... historical..xaxa..
US AI is very stupid, they don't reserch much naval techs, doctrine updates.. not good.

It's my first CORE game ever and i'm very pleased with the mod, but mod aspects are very dissapointing..


My english is very bad, I'm from Bulgaria!
 
You will notice that SU is quite under-performing for this release, the developpers are aware of the issue, and are doing their best to correct things, while still keeping things as historically plausible as possible.
On the other hand, playing the Soviets is now a real challenge.

Gosam has a really good point here. Playing as SOV is currently a very challenging task and I highly recommend trying that. I just finished a test game as SOV right before the release and it was a tough battle to hold GER back and then push on to Berlin! So give that a whirl while we work on the balance side.

Nope. The lower Industrialization means their troops don't take as long, use less supplies etc. It seems as though Soviets don't build enough units. My last game, the Germans had about 45 divisions more than the Soviets! There were some tests adding IC-- but that didn't help.

Have you tried looking at the Soviet slider setting to see what they're doing with the IC that they do have?
 
It is slightly tied to industrialization level, because of access to the encryption/decryption techs - Germany gets access earlier and thus gets a bonus in combat (if they've researched the techs) throught the army_detection modifiers. We toned this down for the release version, but I guess it didn't affect things enough. We have a plan of tieing this into the industrialization levels a bit more: the lower the industrialization level, the lower the radio traffic (etc) and thus less chance of movements being detected this way.
 
Well, I haven't played much, but maybe it's tied to the high modernization cost and time (it's more expansive to modernize than to build a new unit, at least for Central Planing countries like SOV).

Btw: Will there be another version between 0.30 and 0.35?

Hi,

Depending on how many real bugs we have we may release a patch here in the next few weeks. But the next planned upgrade is 0.35 which would include all of the DD Naval changes that missed 0.30's test schedule.
