I've noticed that for some reason I've got specialists clogging the universities. I've got 6 universities, and once non-specialists become specialists, they're not leaving. I've tried kicking them out manually, but they don't leave the dome. (And yes, I've got other domes dedicated to, say, scientists, botanists, engineers, geologists, etc. with plenty of empty apartments available.) Is anyone else seeing this behavior?

I've seen this also, without mods.

My theory is that, once you have enough colonists with a type of specialty, any colonists with this specialty who don't have a job will go to the university to re-train, if there are slots available.

I haven't examined this in great detail, but it only seems to happen with my well established colonies, which fits with the above.

Also, too many universities for your population size may be a factor, so you could try turning some of them off.

Hope this helps

That could be what I'm seeing. I've got over 1000 colonists, and, as you described, certain specialists are apparently re-training in the universities. (I didn't know they could do that!) What clinches this is that I'm seeing specialists in universities I've set to train a specific field. (e.g. One university is set to train Botanists, and I'm seeing Engineers, Geologists, Scientists, etc, in there.)
