In KA1 we used to be able to split armies. I don't know if that's doable in KA2, but what I really want to do is give my other hero his own army. Valerius Pera (or whatever his name is) is in the army of Septimus Sulla. Can I have him lead an army of his own? And I have another hero in a castle (unit reserve).

I have another question. During winter, as I upgraded my units, I was given a choice of damage, defense, or leadership for Septimus Sulla. The same options were available for Valerius. I chose leadership for both, but Valerius still has a dash ( - ) next to his leadership points. What's going on?

Leadership is useful if you want to recruit special (non-Roman) units. These include colossi, wolfmen, talonfolk, etc. Each special unit costs a certain number of leadership points to use.

Is there a way to know how many leadership points are required for these units?

Yes, each special units has a leadership value when you open the unit's screen.

Just to add to this thread, you can safely ignore leadership if you want to only add 1/2 special units to your army, otherwise it has no effect on your army's performance.

If howenever you fancy an army with 6 wolfbreed infantry as line infantry(7ld), 3 guardian squads (10ld) and a dragon(20ld) for an aerial assault force and a colussus (12ld) or 2 to fight those boss monsters then you will need....104ish+leadership...Ouch.
