I had installed several sprite packs and individual sprites from several sites.

Everything was looking real good.

Then while doing some tweaking of a couple of sprites, (switching out ones I liked better) I accidentally deleted half my HOI files. :(

OK, I still had all the sprites and bmp files. So I copied what I still had left of the game to another file, and re-installed HOI, and the Patches and Mods I had installed. Then copied the sprites setup I had back to the game folder.

The problem is.... My Fighter sprite for Minor Countries Level 1 (Biplane) looks like it is being teleported. (aka Star Trek) It still has the right shape and movement, but instead of a color, it looks like the "snow" you see on an unused TV channel. (all glittering and flashing)

I thought maybe it was a palette problem and checked the palette in the .spr file and it was OK, and even substituted a couple of other palettes in case the original was bad. But that didn't work.

I was going to attach a photo, but don't have a site to store it on.

Anyone have a clue what is wrong with the sprite, and how I can fix this?

Thanks,
BlackHat

[EDIT: UGH! after posting this I found the Sprite editing section, maybe this should go there? Well if I find the answer I will delete this post]

Your description certainly does sound like a palette problem... Are the bmps alright? Maybe there's some kind of index problem with them. Have you tried loading the palette on to the sprite bitmaps? (open the palette bitmap, save the palette somewhere, then open the sprite images and load that palette maintaining indexes. You'll need some software capable of this, of course).

I dont do/know any graphical manipulations. If it can be done on MS paint, then I have the software. :) But I am sure it cant.

I wonder if anyone can just zip up a set of the 13 bmps and the pallete for the Fighter, Minor L-1 and e-mail them to me. ("T-FIGHTER A-FIGHT C-MIN L-1 D-NE.bmp", etc)

PM me if you can, and I will PM you my address, as it appears that send e-mail to poster is blocked on this board.

Thanks,
