Ladys and Gents,
I just want to let you all know that there is life after death, ROFL!:D I played a few folks that post here in a multiplayer on saturday nite and guess what? The game is AMAZINGLY stable in MP with the 1.08 patch installed, im not sure if the problems other folks are reporting is specific to a pre 1.08 version? Anyway the game rocks, and we never were dropped, disconnected, etc. I am now dreaming
of game with 6, yes I repeat 6 players in a game :}. Anyway
just wanted to share.

MP Stability

Well, we haven't been THAT lucky, but we have had better success with MP stability lately. We're only averaging 2 drops per game, which is a great improvement. :) And we don't know how much of the instability is caused by having 2 players using modem connections (wish they'd wise up & join the 21st century ;)).

Intressant...

Just got the American version and it seems a lot better "packaged" at least...

Mixing the different version (Swedish and English) seems to make the game less stabile....

Also noted under hardware requirements: Bandwidth of at least 512 kb/s TCP/IP protocol installed......

That means that playing over the continents will not be a real option......

I really wish that I could say the same. A friend and I are both using 1.8, and are not only using high-speed (cable) connections, we are on the same network.

There are only two of us, and although the game is at the mid point, we are involved in a large war (Russia and Turkey vs. everyone in about 6 different wars (only one of which we started). There are lots of troops running around (mostly ours :), of course), but in the course of a 4 hour session we were dropped 4 times (all four occured during the last hour -- the Early Great War).

I must admit -- this game is good on it's own, great in MP, but stability is still an issue... But that won't stop me playing! :D

Cheers!

Multiplayer Stability

Hi All Again,
Just wanted to add a caveat to my initial post, played multiplayer again last nite and experienced LAG for the first time. However the game kept running even with the lag issue, and we played for quite some time with few problems. I agree multiplayer support/functions need to be improved but I suspect alot of problems are due to the variances of internet connections, TSR programs people leave open while playing etc. I play Quake3 TF mod quite a bit also and only have a 28.8 internet connection, and NO im not cheap I live in a part of Tucson thats just not wired yet for cable etc. If I can kill people in Quake with a ping that varies from 300 to 500 ROFL!!! I can live with the few problems ive noticed in EU multiplayer until its fixed.
