Hi,

I'm having a ton of trouble getting Stellaris saves on my Windows 11 laptop to sync to the Steam Cloud. Steam Cloud saves upload fine on my desktop, and I can see them on my laptop, but not the other way around. I've done a fair amount of troubleshooting already:

  • Both Laptop and Desktop running same version of Steam, Stellaris, and Stellaris Launcher, and even Windows 11.
  • Reinstalled Steam and Stellaris on my laptop
  • Tried with a new save/game on laptop, doesn't upload to cloud (whereas a new save/game created on my desktop uploads to the cloud and is seen on my laptop)
  • Tried with another Paradox game (CK3, cloud saves work on both laptop and desktop)
  • Ensured Steam has all the right "Cloud" settings enabled (game properties and steam settings) to enable cloud saves. Toggled them on/off.
  • Ensured Windows Firewall settings aren't preventing anything on my laptop related to Steam or Stellaris.
I'm running out of ideas! I thought for sure reinstalling Steam and Stellaris would fix it, I really want this to work. I'm not sure when the issue started as I haven't been using my desktop for the past few months, and wasn't really paying attention to whether or not saves were uploading to the cloud, so unfortunately I can't really say when/how this issue started.

Would really appreciate any help or other ideas!

Does this also affect CK2 ? It uses the same Steam cloud processes to save there.

Whew, that's a game I haven't played in awhile!

Installed CK2 on my laptop, fired up a new save (Charlemagne, of course), then saved and quit. Upload to cloud worked! Still no luck with Stellaris unfortunately :(

Hard to see what could be wrong on that laptop then, or in the Steam installation on it.

You could try a clean Steam reinstall:

- delete everything in the Steam folder EXCEPT steam.exe and the SteamApps folder
- run steam.exe to rebuild all that
