Hello, I am faced with the problem that the stellaris I recently bought with all DLS simply does not start. The launcher turns on, gives an error and starts checking add-ons. DLS were purchased on December 30 last year. P.S: I live in the territory of the Republic of Crimea. Could it be related to sanctions?

Try not using the launcher, it is trash, whichever paradox game, its trash, both Stellaris and CK3 won't start for me if I try using the launcher (not sure when this started, it wasn't always that way, ck3 it worked until the first or 2nd patch, stellaris, a couple years?)

Anyways, if you have Stellaris (or any paradox game I know of) you should be able to start up the game without a launcher by going to the directory where it is installed and using the .exe file for the game, or a shortcut on desktop if you already have one set up, paradox games don't have DRM, so while you may need a game store to install (if you use gog or steam) but they don't even have to be running, let alone started through them to run

edit-
and on possible sanctions note, Im in Canada so no sanctions on mine, its just a trash launcher you are dealing with, if the game is already installed, then even if you could no longer buy or update it, you should be able to run it with or without whatever store you bought it from

That's a good question. I do not know if sanctions affect games that are already purchased.
The inscription reads: "An error occurred when connecting to Steam. Make sure that Steam is running without administrator rights, and try to launch the game directly through Steam. If you can proceed to the game without paying attention to this error, however, some functions will not be available in this case."

Thank you very much)

From what I have determined by using Google, Russia seems to be blacklisted from accessing Steam. If Crimea is part of the sanctions, then this may be the explanation.
