Now then...
Hello. Thank you for coming in. Let me begin by stating this playthrough is on a legit Ironman, no mods, and I have been receiving achievements as proof it's as the Devs intended it to be played. Now then, onto what has been going on.
This bug is a little weird and I do know it is a bug. How I caught my first glimpse of this bug was that the system's name, Vana, was switching between appearing white(surveyed/visible) to grey(non-visible) to vanishing entirely. It's a little strange to see a hyperlane intersection without being represented by a system. What's going on is this system is owned by two empires. Okay, that's new. There are two planets with each owned by the other and the system is without a starbase. No idea how that became possible. Actually, I can believe if it had two primitive civilizations and they uplifted at the same time... Maybe? Anyways, there are ships in orbit at the center of the system, where the starbase would be above the star, but these ships disappear and reappear with that loopy entering orbit sound followed after their constant blinking in and out of existence. It is almost as if they are trying to land on the star! Trippy. That's one way to get baked, I guess...
Thanks for checking this report out. I have not screenshot this because, recently in this Ironman playthrough, that incident worked itself out when a warring empire booted both of the empires out of that system and stabilized everything with their own starbase. Also I didn't think to screenshot it because I wasn't thinking about reporting it. I was trying to be patient for the End-Game to get here faster while it was still, like, a hundred years away (EG year 2700, Victory 2800). After I got my "Rift Sealed" achievement (yay!
) is when I thought to report the oddity. Sorry about that.
Steps to reproduce the issue.
Good question. Ironman makes this difficult to backtrack and discover what I or the A.I. did to accomplish this anomaly. I can only claim this happened to the Vana system. It is a system in the south of the galaxy that is currently owned by me.
