I have a problem with CKII and other older Paradox games (EU II and III, EU Rome). When I run the game i get strange buzzing sound from either graphic card or cooling system. The sound only dissapears after closing it. I don't have this problem when running other older games. Partial solution to this is to disable laptop hybrid graphics mode and strange sound does not appear. Because it's my home/work in field machine I'm trying to find a way that allows me to keep hybrid mode on and being able to play these games.

By hybrid mode, do you mean having the nVidia software choose whether to run a game on it or the Intel card? Or something else?

DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK2/settings.txt
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK2/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log .

Yes, nVidia software chooses between 1650ti or AMD integrated graphics. Other things I've tried from forum posts: changing vsync and refresh rate does not work, problem with that sound still exists.

edit: changing nVidia settings to use either card type does nothing to solve the problem.

I had a potentially similar problem on a PC and Win10 and changed my power/energy settings in Windows to 'power saving'.
It's something you can try quickly and easily.
Just a suggestion.

Please change these lines in that settings.txt as follows:

refreshRate=60
fullScreen=yes

vsync=no
Is that any better?

Can I get new copies of all those files please.

Please report the temperatures of your CPU and video (GPU)
1/ before starting the game up and
2/ after say 10 minutes' play.
If your PC's vendor has given you no way of reading temperatures, install
