In my game as USA, I noticed a number of really strange occurrences. The most amusing were :
Italy surrenders and joins the allies. New cabinet ministers appear, but some have familiar faces. That Armaments minister for example, Mr. Benito Mussolini, haven't we seen him before? There are two other fascist members of government besides him, but I do not remember their names.
I realise that Italian politics are incomprehensible, but isn't this a little too rich?
By the way, when Italy joins the allies they don't get control over Libya or Ethiopia, which I can understand. But they do get to keep Greece and as a bonus they get Vichy French North Africa as well... No wonder they turned coat, the allies pay much better.
In feb' 44 Germany surrendered. They still held Eastern Europe, most of Finland and the USSR as fas east as provinces I cannot pronounce. Some way east of Chelyabinsk. Much to my surprise, this changed abruptly when Germany surrendered : USSR annexes Germany!
WHAT? The USSR hangs on for dear life in north Finland (hence no Bitter Peace) and in remote Asia. When the USA takes Berlin, the Russians suddenly leap 3,000 miles west and annex what's left... Impressive.
I think both Italian and German surrender need to be looked at. Both are utterly unrealistic.
