Strategic redeployment

Why is it the game sometimes - when attempting moving a division from one area to another - offer the multiple choice box including strategic redeployment and sometimes when right clicking just automatically starts a move action? (peacetime, domestic movement, HoI2 Doomsday)

Seems very random to me and it´s not very sexy to have an inf division to march from eastern Germany to Cologne.

You probably tried to move a garrison division, which can be only moved using strategic redeployment. So do rockets. (Think about it. A rocket flying from one airbase to another? Especially an one that isn't guided?) In short, every division, expect garrisons and rockets, can be moved normally. So check if there aren't any of them in the armies. (AFAIK, there's an garrison division in Essen)

Nope, pure infantry divisions. And as I said the problem isn´t moving them - it is HOW they will move. The game seems to randomize this from time to time, everytime basically, I start it up.

If they are pure infantry formations a right click will send them marching.

If you hold Ctrl+Right click you will get the option box.

If there is a unit that can't march, ie Garrisons, you will get the option box with just a right click.

Thx, Ctrl+Right click solves my emmediate problem - as minimizing the program also does. Curiously enough. However it´s still odd that the program seems to randomize it as it does. My version obviously tries to live its own life as infantry sometimes get the box and sometimes get sent away..and after restarting, or minimizing, the same very right click / order to the same very unit gives the opposite reaction..

Well, well, not much more to do about it I guess.
