I think this is bugged, I searched and couldn’t find anything about it, sorry if I missed it.

I did the decision and then had a kid and the kid had no traits. Thought that was weird so I loaded a save, had the kid again, and still no traits. I did this dozens of times, not a single trait on any of the kids. I know this is possible but seems super unlikely considering the dad had one of each and I just took a decision to make it more likely they get passed on.

It seems like it is having the exact opposite effect that it is supposed to.

I am not using any mods and the only dlc I have is royal court.

From my understanding, if you are guaranteed to inherit traits, they can be inherited as recessive traits and so you won't actually get the strong/intelligent/beauty trait but the next generation still can. The Strengthen Bloodline decision increases the likelihood of inheritance but doesn't guarantee it. Also, if only one parent has the traits then there is a lower chance of them being inherited as well.

I get all of that but it seems odd to me that without the decision I was able to get traits passed on easily. Getting all three took some time but having one or even two was fairly common. I’m a few generations in and my extended family is littered with amazons and geniuses just floating around out there.

With the decision it’s now somehow impossible. Not matter how many times I re-rolled that birth not a single trait showed up while everything else was varied. It was a solid two weeks out so I got a variety of daughters and sons with different names and hair colors. Not a single trait, not even the weakest version of one.

If this is how the decision is suppose to work it’s at best worded poorly. It seems more likely to me that it’s not working properly.

Have you other children or just the one? If it is just the one, it could just be extreme bad luck but if you have multiple children with no traits then I'd file a bug report.

Wait a second do you think my wife cheated on me?

Dammit that has to be it. I got the pop up and everything but I dismissed it cause I’ve been in constant wars since succession so I’ve been really busy.

I was so upset the game was broken but the truth is I’ve just been a neglectful husband. Wow.
