Confirmed Stuck on initializing game screen, but game runs in background

Stuck on initializing game screen, but game runs in background

Description​

The launcher is working, I can hit "resume" or "play" just fine and the game launches. The Initializing Game screen appears and the music plays. It loads for a few minutes and then I can hear the main menu appear and if I move my cursor around I can hear the buttons being selected. I can click where I think the "resume" button is and I can hear the game load with all the typical game noises, but only can see the Initializing Game screen still. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing already and I updated the game and my own computer (Mac).

Steps to reproduce​

Every time I hit either "play" or "resume" on the launcher

Now it is forcing my computer to restart entirely when I hit play.

* If possible/your computer is not forced to restart entirely anymore, a video showing the issue.
* Your error log, which should be available in [...]\Document\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings III\logs\error

My Mac is a 2020 Pro with 2GHz quad-core intel core i5 processor that is updated with Sonoma 14.1.1. Let me know if you need anything else!

I have the same error. When I launch the game from steam the paradox launcher loads. When I launch the game from the paradox launcher however the game appears as just a black screen. I can hear the game music in the background and I can even move my mouse over the buttons to launch a new game or resume a game. I am also using a mac.

I can launch the game in full screen and in windowed and it appears as a black screen in both cases. I have also verified the game integrity and even reinstalled it. I have also disabled the Legacy of Persia DLC and it still is just a black screen. I think it has something to do with the free update since it still is broken when the DLC is disabled.

I found another place where people are talking about the same issue. That is crazy if this has been a problem since the beginning of October (and someone even said September) and it still has not been addressed. This makes me super disappointed if I just can no longer play the game I paid for and sunk time into. I wanted to post a link to it but was told it was "spam-like".
