Stuck with Biplanes

I hava aproblem in that the graphoc for all fighter planes is stuck in the biplane era. The graphics for more recent planes are there, but the game appears not to load them.
Any tips gratefully received.

Do you happen to be playing with the USA? There was, IIRC (maybe still is, I'm using Exel's sprite pack so I can't tell), a problem with the USA and fighter sprites. Because the USA is set to use it's own sprites in country.csv and there isn't a USA L-1 fighter sprite, the game defaults to the MIN fighter. But then, it never gets around to switching to either the MIN L-2 sprite or the USA L-2 sprite.

I think it's general to all countries that have their own sprites and lack an L-1 fighter sprite, but the USA is the most usual offender.

Yes, I had this issue with the US, and also with Brazil.. I shall quickly try some other nations too just to check.

I am not up on the software bug, I only handle the hardware stuff.
The answer apears to be adding the files in or if you do not feel comfortable with that, then install a graphics mod like the one Gwalcmai suggested.
You could check through the bug forum for further info, or ask for suggestions in the editing/mod forum.
