Stuttering Unit Movement

Before today, whenever I play this game it has run smoothly without any problems. However after loading up a saved game today, in battle the units do not run smoothly. Instead they stutter. It may be a frame rate issue, but this has never happened before today. This happens for every battle I play including custom battles. Is this a known problem, and is there a fix?

We haven't released any updates or silent patches for the game since the last patch that was released on 24th February.

Have you changed anything on your computer, installed any software or something that run now in the background that did not run before while you played the game?

I don't have any programs running in the background other than steam. The last time I played this game before this problem was the fourth of march. I can also confirm that it is not a frame rate problem, because the camera and mouse move smoothly while the units stutter. If you cannot find a solution to the problem I can re-install the game.

I have done a re-install, and it has not fixed this problem. Is there anything else that I can do?

I have this issue - I have never not had this issue and have been unable to ever play the game because of the battles looking so bad.

I've tried the game on lowest settings and it still hasn't helped - what can I change?
