Hello all. I have been working on a sub-mod based soley on updating the terrain map and thought others might be interested. It is still very much a WIP but it is getting there.

What do you mean?

There are some base agot terrains and some new ones. IIRC there are 7 new terrains.
 
Okay, so I've played some time with this and I speak only of my experience of Westeros, haven't even looked at Essos yet since I never play there. Altough the terrain looks good I think it looks a bit too sharp overall and when you zoom in/out with scroller the whole map flickers, and when you're pretty zoomed in you can see that the whole terrain starts to flicker for like 1 sec everytime and it's kinda annoying. Other than that I think mountains could use some improvements since it kinds looks like spray paint at the moment.

Could you be specific re: the mountains. what level are you referring to. The base or top of the mountain?

Of course. I play with 1680x1050 resolution, Fullscreen, 60Hz and 8 Multisampling, Radeon 6870 video card and the vanilla map does not flicker for me.

I like the top of the moutains so I guess it's the base, and I think the vanilla mountains look more realistic as the base is more brown and the top is white giving it a sense of height. In this map there's a bit too much white spread out everywhere and could use some variety.

I was curious about if you had just overwritten those seven base textures, or rather had increased the number of textures, i.e. Using all base textures plus your new ones at once (having 32 textures in total) or maintained the number of 25. I see now it is the latther.

I can confirm the flickering with 1366x768, no multisampling, fullscreen.

Also, a suggestion. Did you actually modified all those borders and rivers files? If it's not the case, it would help us the lower speed internet guys download it easier.
