I've read here that CORE makes it's own directories.
If so, do I have to copy out the original Doomsday (it's all I've got) files to a 'Doomsday CORE' directory before installin?

Nope, CORE installs in it's very own moddir exclusively. So you can install it directly in your HoIDD folder and the regular DD game will still work. Not that you'll ever play the regular game again after having tried CORE, obviously, but technically it's no problem. :D

We will be installing additional files into regular DD directories from 0.30 on, but that's because the game mechanics only loads files which it can find in the regular setup as well - unfortunately. But those are just that: add-ons.

So if I download 0.3, I can do the same to 0.35 or 0.4 in the same directory as a patch?
And the same for the add-ons?

Each version of CORE will install to the SAME directory (mod-CORE2) by default - though you can choose a different name during Installation, as I recall. Once installed, you can always change the directory name, as long as you remember to update your desktop shortcut as well.

CORE installations are typically Full Installations, not patches on previous versions, by the way, so each version has all the files you need for it to work.

Alright.
0.3 is coming out soon, so I can wait for that.
