That, or make it toggleable. It doesn't really make much sense that a puppet government would just hand people investment rights without any sort of input from the overlord.

EDIT: wtihout -> without

Yeah this is an oversight. Will fix.

Maybe for puppets, but dominions should definitely be able to set investment rights; or subjects somehow should be able to request it, like market access.

It would feel very weird if the US couldn't invest in Cuba or Canada.

Also, it should be possible to force nationalization the assets of foreign power in subjects (probably with some restrictions, but currently it's not possible at all)

I think it's possible but only if you start the play with a different wargoal and the subject joins, and you can only do one force nationalization per war.

Interesting, I need to check this out. But still, I guess the assets of foreign Regional HQs are excluded from this?

Hi, the cure is worse than the disease: now in 1.9.6: I can't give my puppets investment rights to the overlord country anymore, which one should totally be able to do (e.g. to allow their companies to invest in my country). Surely the overlord itself should be excluded from the exclusion.

(Peru-Bolivia is my puppet in the screenshot)

I just experienced this. I would love the ability to create specialized puppets that can build or buy their niche buildings throughout an entire power bloc.

Additionally, it would be neat if we could:
  1. Control what companies are founded by puppets and have the building levels owned (privately or nationally) by an overlord counting towards incorporation requirements (ex. building 5 Shipyards in Zealand satisfies the requirements for a Denmark puppet to establish A.P. Moller).
  2. Set production method by company (ex. give the Saxony company with prestige Porcelain "Bone China" and the Bohemian company with prestige Glass "Prioritize Glass Production"). This can be accomplished somewhat today with micromanaging but doesn't support the case where both companies have a Glassworks in the same state.
