I'm not a modder, but I figured if anybody was interested in doing something like this, it would be helpful to have a bunch of people's ideas in one place - and it could be helpful to the mod's directors anyway, or just interesting to see what people come up with.

I'll try to update ideas to the first post if possible, but no guarantees.

1. Kingsguards for other kingdoms; name ideas - the Howling Wolves (North), Pride of the Rock (The Rock), Lunar Guardians (the Vale), the Riverguard (Trident), the Gardeners (Reach), the Mirage in the Desert (Dorne), Thunder (Stormlands). Also, anybody revolting to press their own claim to the Iron Throne should be given a temporary Emperor-level title where they are called King, and should have the option to create a titular Kingsguard that would replace the old Kingsguard.

2. A no-history mod. Every county has one count, no other characters. [Orinsul]

Submod that removes Essos, because all these embargo wars and slave raids are getting ridiculous.

I actually remember that it was said some months ago, that the no-Essos version was in plans. May i ask mod devs if there's any work going on it actually? 0.6 is finally completly unplayable on my computer, so right now i am trying to throw away myself the most irritating (Warlocks in Westeros etc.) things from 0.5. And yes, a new embargo war almost every year and 16.000 guys from Volantis or somewhere riding the Iron Islands ARE ridiculous...

Funny how the creators of this mod (with all respect to their hard work) and main Paradox team made the same mistake (RoI)...

I was thinking, a non-lore submod, where each county would have one character and there are no other characters, ancestors or anything. So the Character ID numbers would be down.

One idea would just be straight, independent counts everywhere and no story. Probably with dragonstone in ruins so no one family is at an advantage in getting escaped dragons.

Another would be it's set after the wall or etc failed so a post-apocolyptic setting, to give an expanation being sundered from the lore.
Half of westeros is ruins, a few provinces are held by restless unplayable undead with the important cities held by titular tribal king tier titles, Dragonking of Harrenhal, Dragonking of the Eyrie, Dragonking of Dragonstone and etc, being the commanders who after maybe even a couple generations of Winter rode dragons to drive back the darkness and make a new dawn for humanity. So as to have playable dragons.
That way you'd have mostly ruins though, so there'd have to be an desicion or something to have characters without parents to get to choose to take up the dynasty of the province they get landed in if no members of that dynasty exists.
Probably that one is just over-thinking it.

Anyway, a submob with the ID numbers at a minimum would be cool. It'd mean not having the story but that's what the base mod is for and it'd be good to have the blank slate to make your own on, as the mechanics, events, map and etc of this mod are better than it's mere representation of a book series anyway.

So just independent counts and no unlanded historic characters

More Kingsguards would be great, but maybe just have them all called the Kingsguard, or Kingsguard of (Kingdomname).

You're overlooking that Paradox implemented a long-sought improvement in RoI, that the aGoT team could use to solve many of these problems: diplomatic range. I haven't looked into the modability of it yet, but diplomatic range might be the most important DLC-introduced function since ToG, if not earlier.
