Sudden lags

My game lags (always on the same day) and it just freezes

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
I play like normal, but then the game comes to 21 July and then just stops. I can move my cursor, music still plays, but time doesn't move and when I click game crashes. One time the game moved from 21 July but on 6 August the same thing happened. Putting on observe mode or slowing the game down doesn't help.

Steps to reproduce the issue.
I have a save a few days before the issue, so I just open it, a few days pass and then it happens.

In this game is there a single very large empire, say 1/3 of the map or more?

If so, and a civil war or rebellions have broken out, that will be the cause of this problem - the game simply cannot cope with that many units on the map.

No, there is no very large empire. There is Kievan Rus which controls all of Ukraine, Belarus, Scandinavia and big part of Russia, but I don't think that's the issue.

Has a civil war or widespread revolution broken out though? The cause of the problem is too many units on the map, regardless of what caused that or where they are or whose they are.

There are more wars than usual, Byzantines have to major revolts at the same time but it is nothing too crazy. Also, update. I managed to push the game to November, but lags are still so annoying and it is like - few days pass - 10-second lag. Another few days pass - another 10-second lag. So yeah, there may be to many wars at the moment, so I will try to wait it out.

So, a few years passed and there is nothing changing. I mean, it is possible to play, but the lag is unbearable. I white peaced few major wars via console but no effect.

I get that too on my iMac, so it is an issue in that save game, not your computer. It is an unusual case given there are no map-wide empires, but the symptoms are the same; essentially the game's design parameters have been exceeded. Aside from deleting armies from the save game or the console, there's nothing can be done for this I am sorry!

After few years it is actually possible to play pretty ok, the lags are still annoying but I can manage it. Anyways, thanks for your help
