Suddenly all events gone...

And suddenly all events were gone!

Playing as Germany, as usual, I faced an odd and annoying failure during the year of 1940-41. Saved game in Sept 40, everything normal, but after some months playing I begin to wonder: there are no events triggering anymore. Opens save file and find: no events added to be triggered! Compare with save file Sept 40, there they are! Now suddenly empty, just history logged as usual, sleepevent empty, events not even there.

Sorry, bad English, nevertheless hopefully you understand the problem. Strange. Have been playing HoI II Arma for quit a while now, and have never faced this before!

Did you do any modding or mess around with any of the files prior to this event? What kind of failure did you experience as well? A CTD with an error message or was it something else?

I did - nothing! I have never seen anything like it, it was really strange. Have set game to autosave once every month, but otherwise nothing made to the savefiles.

I'm not 100% sure if these will solve your problem, but here goes:

1. Can you start a new game and have events in it? If there are, then this is an isolated problem relating to the specific save game.

2. You might want to try and reinstall the game if this problem persists. I'd say this would clear the problem, and afterwards I'd keep an eye on my antivirus software. Some antivirus software is so :wacko: that it'll attack modded versions of HOI. If you were running a modded version, this might shed some light on the issue.

Well, have tried to reinstall, but still problem with events suddenly just are gone! Unfortunately even worse now since every save file is handled in this malfunctional way, every time game load savefile it skipps the events, really unplayable... Maybe some problem with Vista? Also runs program with some graphic changes from DMP, AI mod DAIM.

I've never experienced that problem myself nor seen it on this forum, though I'm relatively new as it goes, but I'd say that if it works fine with the mods, just play it that way.

Try installing it on a different PC and see if you get the same results.

Since you are using Vista, try installing the game somewhere other than Program Files if you haven't already (e.g. C:\Games).
