I've been playing as Germany and so far up until 1938 have kept it historical, however when it comes to the Sudetenland events I've encountered some difficulty. It seems no matter what alternatives I choose I can't force the Munich agreement to capitulate into giving me the Sudetenland, I always end up with an option to either go to war or back down. Can anyone help?

Do you have Mussolini pitch your proposal, i.e. are the Italians backing you? If not, did England opt for a hardline stance earlier on, instead of appeasement? Those will effect your options at Munich, should it happen at all.

Thanks for your help Hagar

I had Mussolini pitch the proposal, but I'm not sure if UK decided to take a hardline stance or not.. Assuming they did, I suppose that makes it impossible to gain the territory for free? Is there anyway to force UK to take an appeasement policy?

You might be able to find it in your history log file, but it surely looks like it. If England chooses to take a tough stance she does have the option later on in the chain to back down or show resolve. Should the UK choose the latter however there's no way GER would be able to 'force' an appeasement policy onto them. It's either back down or go to war (i.e. follow up your threats). So in your case your political gamble didn't pay off like it did in real life. That's CORE for you - a lot of what-if scenario's are covered, and you might get a surprise result here and there. That's one of the reasons I like to have message boxes displayed for all events of all nations. ;)
Mind you, the UK does pay quite a heavy price when opting for hardline, so it will hurt them at least as much as it does hurt you...

Its MUCH clearer to me now thanks to your help Hagar :)

I identified the message when UK takes a hard stance, it occurs immediately after my earliest save (August 1938) so maybe its too late to change the outcome.

CORE 0.25 is easily the best mod I've played so far (and I've tried em all), I'm just desperate to follow the most event-rich path ;)

You might want to retry it loading the august save, but IIRC it's triggered somewhere as early as July - and I've been beta testing Munich over and over again... Can't hurt to try though.

Glad you like the mod so far... The credits for the whole Munich chain, 200+ events, completely go to Baylox. Fortunately Scandinavia has long, long winters... :p

Many of these events are set in motion much earlier or are dependent/influenced by earlier events - some of which are completely out of player control, so once you get to the actual event (such as Munich) a lot of things have already been decided (or at least the AI chances are skewed towards certain outcomes).

In the case of Munich, if England has already decided earlier (after Anschluss) on going Hardline it very much influences the entire Munich chain and there is only minor things Germany can do to improve their chances of a peaceful resolution.

England Appeasement/Hardline choice is largely out of German control, btw.
