After reading the Developer Diary 0 I had an idea: Wouldn't it be possible to have a launcher with 2 possibilities:

1) Play normal, with the complexity the developers want
2) Play complex, with all the complexity ideas the developers and community have.

In my case, when I would play single player i would choose nr. 2 and when I would play multi i would choose nr 1.
But still, i believe that missing some elements of complexity should not occur just for the sake of charging the game with too many feature and balancing it with the interface, since there are players and players. Playing with a low level of complexity is rather boring in singleplayer, while it is perfect for multiplayer.

That way, players will choose how they want to play. And of course, i strongly believe in the great ideas the developers have so why not put them all in a complex game while keeping also a normal game for the sake of "easy players".

Europa Universalis gave me a feel of leading a country but at some point I wanted to do something and I couldn't because there weren't enough game mechanics - and because I was the Pope with my hands tied i was terribly dissapointed! The mods however made that feeling go away: mods like MEIOU or Magna Mundi.

Therefore, I would like to ask the developers to consider this alternative - for the sake of Papacy, Holy Roman Emperor or Absolute Monarchy (and a lot others) where our hands were tied in Eu3.

Thank you.

So you want them to double the development time in order to appease a very small minority of gamers?

No, I don't think so.

I'm sure in good time there will be a version of MM for EU4 that makes it as convoluted and loathesome as the community want.

How are you defining 'very small minority'? Given that the OP suggests that this would have benefits for those that play single player, those that play multiplayer, new players looking to familiarise themselves with the game, and experienced players looking for extra challenge...

So I am just wondering who doesn't fit in that bracket? Besides yourself, obviously.
