I gave the Ottoman Empire a go today... Before hand, I was reading over the speel about them...
Something I found odd when getting into the game was their lack of territorial claims... From what was said, untill only the last century, much of the mediteranian was under Ottoman control, including Greece, possibly parts of Bulgaria, Albania & Serbia, right through to Vienna...
Yet, none of these regions are down as Ottoman territorial claims... Wouldn't it make more sense for them to be if their empire stretched all the way to Vienna at the empire's height? Ie, a target in order to return them to past glory?
Correct me if I am mistaken, but in the 14th or 15th Century, didn't they even control parts of Spain, or was that another Islamic nation?
Something else I found a little odd... I declared war on Bulgaria, and got a massive 26% dissent hit! I've never seen such a high hit for declaring war on another country... Even with one Democracy declaring war on another! Being a member of the Alliance, shouldn't they, like Germany, receive only a minor dissent hit?
My guess is that Japan or Italy are still down for a low dissent hit when declaring war, like they are in vanilla HoI, or that it has not been transferred to the Ottoman Empire... Germany, Austria-Hungary & the Ottoman Empire should be the three countries to receive this, being the equivalent of the Axis powers in Vanilla HoI.. At least in my understanding...
Hell, Japan was part of the Entente in WWI, and is quick to join in TGW, while Italy will often abandon the Alliance in order to establish better ties with Entente members and so would not be readily declaring war on anyone...
