Hello everyone!

The disease and outbreak mechanic introduced in Ck2 Reapers due add a nice feature that was integrated pretty well into the game. I think it could be nice if some diseases in Ck3 could target some specific demographics: Disease that target only women, that is lethal for kids but not adults, etc.

Why? I believe this mechanic could be able to generate asymmetry in your court and create some unique situations for the player.

How? Beside having base health reduction for a given disease, a second malus could be given if infected fill certain conditions.

It's already been confirmed that epidemics aren't being carried over.

wait, Reaper's Due content wasent universally well recieved? They really arent carrying over epidemics? Eeeh guys.
Fixed length of epidemic infestation is pretty bad, and the way infection weight appears to work creates a "wave front" where one part affects the whole, which doesn't appear very sensible.

Even though I feel Reaper Due was one of the most interesting DLC, I guess the dev were not satisfied about dynamic epidemic system being only about "oh no there is epidemy in my country, let's click the magic "close gates" button so my family won't die, and let's click again 6 months later when it's over". (and I'd agree it's a bit boring and repetitive) So according to what I know they want to flesh out the system before reintroducing them. At least that's what they said about all CK II content which won't be present at release

The worst problem about Reaper's Epidemics is that they would hang around forever, and repeatedly tag your heir. Again... and again...and again...etcetera ad nauseum...

So your heir would get consumption, survive that, get it again, two days later, survive that, and get it about two days later yet again.

It was clunky, a bit on the stupid side, and refused to consider immunity from having survived it the first time around...

I think that Reaper's due epidemics worked well when representing the biggest of epidemics, the Plague. It forced you to plan in preparation for its inevitable arrive, and it really did a good job at showing how deadly it was, even for the nobility of that era. I'd love to see a bubon-ridden character in CK3, or even the map as the plague spreads throughout the whole world. Minor epidemics, though, they need to make them better. Right now they seem like the small version of the plague, which turns out as annoying more than else. They should have an impact on places and a risk of contracting them, but they shouldn't force you to constantly lock down your castle.

i think its a great dlc for ck2 but i guess the mechanics of how plagues work are not that great .
i believe they might find a solution later for outbreaks because we talk about the middle ages so i expect them not to ignore such important element forever , a free update or something that will fix that later is maybe possible , like the naval battles for imperator hopefully .
usually if the game isnt dark enough then they will make it dark at one point .
