Firstly, some important rivers in China need to be simulated, especially the Yangtze River, which should be allowed for ships to pass through. The key battle that historically determined the winner of the Chinese Civil War was held at Poyang Lake on the Yangtze River, and the Yangtze River also played a crucial military role in the confrontation between the North and South regimes in Chinese history, especially in defense. In addition, the Yangtze River and the Grand Canal greatly facilitated China's economic and cultural exchanges as well as the transportation of personnel and materials

Second, the Yellow River, the Pearl River, Huaihe River and other rivers also need to be simulated, but they do not need to allow ships to pass through, they just need to be shown on the map and have an impact on military and production

Thirdly, there should be some areas where the military cannot pass through, which can simulate important passes between towering mountains and valleys. For example, in Shanxi, Fujian, and Sichuan provinces of China, such military impassable areas should appear more frequently to restore their dangerous terrain and military defense value (including reducing the control of the central government)

Furthermore, if the production team had moved the original start of 1444 forward, I believe 1356 would have been a better choice. At this time, the world political landscape was just right. Zhu Yuanzhang captured Nanjing that year, while in 1337, there was not even a Han Chinese country in the world……

As the devs are always fond of saying, terrain feedback and improvement suggestions should go in the respective Tinto Maps. They're more likely to read it there.

I mean, OK? Moving the start date for the entire world based on China alone doesn't seem workable. What's the argument from a European, Persian, Indian perspective, and how would a 1356 start date improve these and all other regions of the world which are not China?

Either way, the start date is one of the things I imagine was most set in stone from before the very first Tinto Talks. We were never going to influence that particular aspect of the game.

as someone who is so into chinese military history and the role the mountain passes and rivers played i would agree in the riverscan be navigable because they played massive MASSIVE role in this period . but i dont agree with the start date to 1356. 1337 is more fitting for most nations , in europe its start date of the 100 years war , in anatolia its year of fall of nicomedia , in asia its around the birth of Tamerlan , in africa its the year of death of mansa musa and the year morocco and spain will clash over the moroccan enclanves in iberia .
also its just too late to ask for a change now , not after a whole year of tinto maps and feedbakcs so you cant just throw that into the water

I think we really don't need to repeat these over and over again, and you should post them in the map log of China

Sorry, my suggestion is not only based on China's considerations, this is just an example. What I mean is that the national map of other regions in 1356, such as Eastern Europe, is more suitable in my opinion compared to 1337. There is a famous mod in EU4, which started in 1356, but I also know that it is unrealistic to propose changing the start time now. This is just my idea
