I am pretty new to HOI2, and I am loving it … until now. A couple of strange things are happening and I am wondering whether more experienced gamers can tell me what I am doing wrong, or if this is a programming problem with the game.
I am playing my first game as Germany and I’m learning a lot of things as I go. I am concentrating my diplomatic and military efforts in the Mediterranean, Africa and the Middle East. Although Vichy, Italy, Yugoslavia, Syria, (all with Mediterranean ports) Persia and Romania are all my allies and I have conquered Greece, Turkey and all of North Africa, many of my troops were running desperately short of supplies! I have discovered that, for some strange reason, my AI is creating supply convoys from German ports to travel around Africa through the Suez Canal to get to my troops in Africa and the Middle East! Many ships are being sunk. Supply quotas are not being met!
This is especially frustrating because I have purposely opened land supply line options and 'own' the Mediterranean as far as Gibraltar! Why can't I route supplies through my allies' and conquered territories!! I can't even manually change the convoys! Is this the way it’s supposed to work? Surely not!
