ok, I understand what "support attack" is, but I don't understand what you mean by support defense... not when the "support defender" has to physically run over to the next door province before it can help defend. This action should be just the same as "support attack" where-by the supporting unit does not move physically, just lends it "support".

Can you please revise "Support defend" to act like the "support attack" which is correctly protraid in the game.

And if you cant change it could you please explain to me why it can not be changed :D

thanks

Hello;

It's a very good tactical option if you want to advance more quickly: unit who "support defense" will move about double fast than normal to the defender. It saves me a lot of times during Barbarrossa with Germany, or with SU. IA uses it in may battles too.

exactly what i was going to say... usually i have infantry with engineers attached... move very quickly and support defence, then i counter attack and before you know it theres a huge hole in their defence line...

i think the AI uses this and thats why many people complain that AI troops move too quickly...

infantry with engineers are the key to operation barbarrossa on HARD!!

i use support attack a lot when i'm playing Germany vs SU, but i didn't really think about using support defend. I usually do not havew to worry about anyone except the USA as even a match for my german forces.
i'll have to try it more often.
thanks

So when you "support defence" a province, the unit "support defending" will move automatically to aid the defence? I've never really understood how this mechanic works...

Hello;

Thats it. IF you order a unit to support defense, when the unit supported is attacked you move into his positions; but your movement is about double fast than normal.
