What is your game version?
I don't know because the game didn't start but I have latest steam update.

What DLC do you have installed?
None.

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
The game launches (splash screen) but later crashed right before to show up the menu. I cleaned up all the save game files and config files, the install is clean.
I'm using OpenSuse Tumbleweed 20210912 x86_64 Linux 5.14.1-1-default

Can you replicate the issue?
Yes, it happens every single time.

FYI the only supported distro is Ubuntu.

Has the game ever worked on this machine? Or never yet?

Please run the game's executable from a terminal command line. What output do you see when it fails then?
