Game crashes after 1 sol

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
I had concerns about performance issues playing on my laptop but usually these would come late game once I had filled the screen with animations. However my laptop meets the minimum requirements fairly comfortably, and since I can play games such as City Skylines and Sim City I figured I should be able to get further then a dozen drones and a couple of solar panels.
With no mods after about 1 sol, the game simply crashes.
I have deleted almost all my other games to create space on the Harddrive, reduced all graphics settings to off or low and increased the amount of virtual memory allocated. So I'm certain it's not a performance issue.
Can you replicate the issue?
Yes. Everytime I load the game. It will last a minute or two then same thing crash.
