Description
Icons are loaded only under certain conditions.

Windows

Steam

What is your game version?

The occurrence icons are only displayed when I want to build something or I go to the map view (not planet view).
I have tried everything possible I thought it was only a bug of my mods, which I then deactivated.
The same occurs on the asteroids and also in the underground.

I have tried reinstalling, no mods and new worlds.
I do not know when it always starts but sometimes everything works correctly and sometimes not.

Processor from Intel

Sorry I don't have a picture but like I said it doesn't always happen and I deleted all the worlds where it did.

Can you replicate the issue?

When this next occurs in a colony try saving, exiting the whole game, then reloading that colony. Is it still the case then, or that fixes it for a while?

Either ay has this always happened since you've had the game, or it was okay up to some point?

Please attach here the latest (ONLY!) game log file, from here:
C:\Users\{Username}\AppData\Roaming\Surviving Mars\logs\
To see the AppData folder you'll need to enable View Hidden Items in File Explorer.

Plus, DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

the errors occur only since a few weeks. before that everything was fine.

It happened again and I took screenshots.
it all started after I analyzed an anomaly in the underground.
In the first screenshot you can see that there are only icons when you are in the map view. In the 2nd & 3rd you can see that when you leave the map view there are no icons displayed.

And I am now sending the other files as well.

I'm afraid your old Intel(R) HD Graphics is unsupported hardware for this game, and is very likely the source of your problem.

Your driver for it dates from 2016, even though you are on Win11. Please check with ZOTAC for an updated Win11 driver for it, failing that Intel themselves https://downloadcenter.intel.com/

I hope that does it for you!

I agree that is strange; after all the game itself has not changed in that time either!

Perhaps it was a Win11 update then?

It just happened again but this time I know when.
I was on an asteroid and left it because it was not in my comfort zones. When I pressed "Leave Asteroid", BANG all icons were gone again XD
What does that mean to me now was it my pc or is that a game bug?

We don't have enough evidence to say either way. If it is a game bug it's been there since the last game update back in May; why would it suddenly start happening to you only now? Why would it not be happening to every player ?

Do you have access to any other computer to test this problem on?

Can i get the dxdiag and game log files from that second machine please?

That machine also only has an Intel video system well below the minimum requirement, so I'm not surprised it has the same problem. It also has less than the required 4gb of available system memory.

Here are the published minimum hardware requirements:
  • Processor: 4th Generation Intel i3 CPU or equivalent
  • Memory: 4 GB RAM
  • Graphics: Intel HD 4600/Geforce 620/Radeon 6450 or equivalent GPUs with 1 GB of video RAM

And recommended:
  • Processor: 5th Generation Intel i5 CPU or equivalent
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: Geforce 750 Ti or equivalent with 4GB of video RAM

Do you have access to a machine that meets these, to test on?

So with the PC of a friend it has worked as you can see here:
Surviving Mars 29.08.2022 15_19_20.pngSurviving Mars 29.08.2022 15_19_55.png
Is jetze half also strange why it happens so suddenly and it worked well before.
Is jetze nix big tragic is just quite time-consuming to find out where what is what you're looking for but you can still see the icons if you want to build something or is in the mapview.

I also send if all went well with the test here the DXDIAG file and and the game log before you ask me again if you can still have them XD

Thanks a lot for the help.

Sorry, when you say "it has worked" you mean the problem has occurred on this third machine? Or has not occurred?

sorry but i wrote it correctly but english speaking people understand it as "it worked" but in german it means that everything went as it should. AND i noticed something.......... i'm really so embarrassed and i want to apologize for it i discovered the 'I' key which randomly causes/undoes what is giving me problems. It's possible that I just came up with it at the stupid times, apparently at the times when I pressed 'p' . which is funny they suggested everything to me except that i have to press 'I' XD
