What is your game version?

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
Game will randomly crash. Windows Event Viewer shows that nvlddmkm (Nvidia Display Driver [20MAR2018] GTX 970) stopped working.

Downgrading Graphics Setting in Game - No Success
Updating Graphics Driver- No Success
Reinstall of game - No Success
Reinstall of Graphics Driver - No Success
Installing Graphics card in a different slot on my Motherboard - No Success
Beta Drivers - None Available
Card is not at an abnormal temperature.

Visual effect - Screen turns a light blue and then displays my desktop, the in game mouse cursor is still visible, game music is still playing and from what I can tell it will respond to keyboard commands.
About half of the time windows will catch the error thrown and bring up the "XXX has crashed, checking online for solutions" dialog, but that is not a given.

Ram test and graphical stress tests find no issues.
Note: Game autodetected High Graphic Settings. No change in events when dropped to low.

Can you replicate the issue?
Longest I've gone w/o a crash is 3 hours.

What actual CPU and GPU temps are you seeing before the game starts, then after say 10 minutes' play?

GPU 48C-67C-72C

No crash this time, but it was a short session.

69c is getting up there, but not quite enough to cause crashes or hardware problems, I'd say.

Just before it crashes it never gets up to say 80c?

That is a shame then as it only leaves the driver itself, a driver/Windows installation problem, or hardware.

The driver you are now on is from this month?

If so you might try a clean reinstall of it. Uninstall that driver and reboot. When the computer comes up (on the Microsoft default video driver) download a fresh copy from that link and install it, and reboot again.

Is there a flag I can pass the executable to force dx11 instead of dx12. The only time I had something remotely similar to this was in the dx12 beta of Total War Warhammer

According to a log file from another Windows user, the game already uses DirectX 11:

The problem seems to have ended when I converted the Display Mode from Borderless Window to Exclusive.
