I downloaded the East India Company Collection (Bundle not single installer) and installed them in this order:

EIC designer's cut
Pirate bay
Privateer
Trafalger

I also patched Designer's Cut to the latest patch. However when I try to launch any of these games it says:

"This application has failed to start because tbb.dll was not found re-installing may fix this problem"

I re-installed the game and I still keep getting this message. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong? :(

The official Collection has only one installer for everything so I guess you've bought some third party bundle such as the one from GamersGate. One of our players installed everything in this order with good results. The most important point is that you install PirateBay before Designer's Cut.
