umm, playing my first game as USA, i have some things which bother me. I built some carriers, and want to add a CAG brigade. Well, did this, until i noticed i have '35 style CAG's, and i cannot see an upgrade for this division on the tech screen - where is it? My Level 5 carriers are now weaker than any level 2 carrier :(

And just messed around a bit, tried to get into the axis, just for fun. Now i see, with Alf M. Langdon in charge, that i have like a 40% chance to join the Axis... is this supposed to be so? joining on the side of japan is about 50% chance... has it ever been so? I mean it's nice, a fun game to play... but is this supposed to be this way?

Isn't it in the Air Doctrine tree, in the bottom where CORE has put what didn't fit in the regular place?
(Or perhaps in the Air unit tree, but still below)

Took some time before I found it too. Got a bluebrint for CAG's from Hungaria :p and tryed to find it...

It's down on the air units page. You need to have the CAS, Interceptor, Fighter and Escort Fighter of the period in order to research the CAG of the period. IE : to have mid-war CAG you need mid-war CAS, Interceptor, Fighter and Escort Fighter.

Beside I think Escort Fighters should not be a requirement for CAG, but that's another story.

thank you, i'll have to search for it, but at least now i know that it's somewhere...

It is located at the bottom of the Air Tech page and you do need CAS researched, but you only need ONE of Interceptor, Fighter and Escort - not all three.

for the higher lvl CAGs you need high lvl Carriers as well.

Thank you guys, i indeed have not researched level 1 CAS yet, but have at least level 5 carriers... will look into this and i am sure i will find it...! :D

It is not obvious from the tech tree that you need the carrier tech.

That's right - that's one of those things that are hard to show (writing it explictly on the tech screen is not a good solution, since there isn't room to cover all such occurances - but it might be better than nothing).

Archangel85: Thank you, that's correct as well.

The US election events have not yet been gone over, so there may be some oddities associated with sliders and such, especially the ahistorical ones. They're on the list to be reviewed, but not right away.
